Why hire Craig Fine Portraits to photograph your Wedding when you do not live in the Atlanta area?
First of all, I hope you hire a photographer because you love the way they capture the romance and essence of your special day, and that price is only a secondary reason to pick a local photographer from another who might be located somewhere else. Also if you want to truly enjoy your wedding day, you need a photographer that you feel comfortable with, that will set the mood for a happy exciting day. Not a drill sergeant that is going to run the show and tell you every move to make.
Craig Fine Portraits does not charge the high price that perhaps photographers in your area are able to demand, areas where the cost of living is much higher, South Florida or New York for example. Another reason could be because their overhead might be higher, again because of your demographics. Here in the Atlanta area a home that would sell for $200K would run two million in West Palm beach for example. Also it is not always because of their talent and experience in most cases that they can demand a high price, and the price of their supplies and prints is no different then for Craig Fine Portraits. Most charge more because they want to limit the number of weddings they photograph and want to pick the cream of the crop. Personally I like to photograph one every weekend, I truly enjoy photographing weddings.
I enjoy the opportunity to cover out of State weddings for a couple of reasons, and that is why I am willing to travel and photograph your wedding without a large up front obligation that you might have to meet by picking a photographer with the same experience but located in your own area.
An out of State wedding gives me a "Working Vacation", and solid business expense. I seldom ever have a free weekend with no wedding to photograph, so the few out of State weddings That I photograph during the course of a year, gives me a "break from the norm" and a couple days to relax as I travel to and from your area. I use my own transportation to drive to your area with all the needed equipment to cover any possible situation, with equipment that I am familiar with and can trust, I do not have to worry about finding and renting equipment from a camera store in your area. Or losing my equipment because of an airline problem.
For locations where there would need to be an overnight stay I always leave to arrive one day early, and will call you and let you know I made it in town safely, so that you will be assured that I made the trip OK, and that I am there ready for your special day.
Craig Fine Portraits will work out a package that will fit your needs as long as you have a budget to work with of between $3,000 and $8,000 dollars.
Craig Fine Portraits travel requirements are, two nights lodging, at a reasonable place that you would be willing to stay in yourself. Nothing fancy required, just a non smoking room, is all that I ask. If you wish to have the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner covered if this is scheduled the night before the wedding that is no problem at all, the only other travel allowance that is required is computed in the following manor. Take the miles round trip according to Map quest or Yahoo maps times the current IRS mileage allowance, and then divide that figure in half, no other travel expenses are required.
Destination weddings photographed in Italy does require all travel arrangements and lodging as part of the contract. (I lived in Italy for over 2 years and do speak Italian very well still).
It is easy to deliver to you the previews, CD slide show and finished albums. And we insure them for their full retail value when shipping. But because I capture my images using digital cameras their is never any worry if a shipment was to became lost, because the digital negatives are always at my fingertips.
