Atlanta portrait and wedding photographers Craig & Cathy Willis

Price and other factors to look for in the photographer you pick.

When you hire a photographer, it should be because you love their photography, if you do not like their style of photography, or if the quality of the products they offer is not what you expect, you will end up not being happy with your photography later, which is very sad because at that point nothing can be done about it, to correct and make it right again.

Let me get this out of the way first thing, if your budget is $500 or more, then I am sure we can work with you to provide you with beautiful photography of your special day so make the call to 404-375-6280 and talk to Cathy or myself about your wedding photography options.

We can taylor a package that is right for you, but here is an example....

Two photographers, 6 hours coverage by both photographers at your wedding with digital files, and toped off with a beautiful 20 page 26 x 9.5 inch large custom designed Graphi Studios Panoramic Wedding Album.

All for the low price of $ 2,000

Here are some other factors to look at and consider...

1 - look at his/her work!

You must determine if this is the quality and style of photography you want to have in your wedding album. The photographers "Eye" and talent is important both at the time of capture, and in the presentation of the final image presented.

If you are looking to hire a professional photographer you already know that you are not willing to settle for an amateur to do the job. But do not forget that there is also a huge difference between professional photographers. Each has his/her own style, each has his own equipment choices, each has a different end product meaning,. your wedding album. Like any other profession, photographers can range from outstanding to poor. Since your wedding album will last for generations.

2 - Make sure the photographer who took the pictures you like is the photographer that will shoot your wedding.

Back in early '70s... I worked for a studio that had 3 outlets. The owner who was a photographer himself only liked to do portraits and did not shoot weddings. He was a true politician, friendly, personable and easily liked. He did all the selling and would book weddings for his 5 staff photographers. He would never mention the fact that someone else would shoot their wedding, which put us with a bad start on the wedding day. I have no desire to do business that way.

Because of that I am very upfront about who is available to photograph your wedding. Even during your initial phone call, we will tell you which member of the Craig Fine Portraits team is open for your date. If only a staff photographer is still available for your date, we will tell you that right then, before setting up an appointment to come in, for two reasons.

First we would need to check and see if one of our staff photographers are available for your date, but also we don't want you to come and meet with us, and hit you with that kind of surprise, I just don't think that is right. When you come in you will be shown only sample wedding albums that were photographed entirely by that photographer alone.

3 - Look at a complete day's coverage, not just select shots taken from several different weddings.

You need to see what an entire day's output will look like. Can this photographer take several hundred good photographs all in the same day?

4 - Inspect the album materials used also.

How your wedding photographs are displayed is very important. Quality materials and well assembled albums are important in the presentation of your wedding. Many hours are spent to place your photographs in a nice artistic way, not just dropping them into slots.

If seeking digital files only, will they be adjusted, full size files that will result in quality prints when you take them to be printed? And if you do pick the option to own the digital files, does the photographer offer print and album services should you find out that you really need help with the final presentation after all?

Many couples who have picked to only have a CD of the digital files never end up with a final product that makes them happy with their wedding photography.

The majority of our package options allow you ownership of your digital files when orders are complete.

5 - Choose a photographer you can get along with.

You should take into consideration whether or not you think you can work all day with this person. If you and the photographer are not getting along very well it will show in the expressions displayed in the photographs. When you look at a "photographers album," check to see if the people in the pictures look like they are having fun and enjoying their wedding day.

6 - Does the price fit within your photography budget?

Obvious, but consider this: the day after the wedding the money spent on caterers, florists, church and reception is gone with nothing to show for it without the wedding photography.

The wedding album, however, you will have forever. Your grandchildren will look at this book and marvel over how you looked way back in the year 2007.

WEDDING PRICING INFORMATION

When you see the quality of our work you will be pleasantly surprised at our prices. (For the 2010 wedding year, we are seeking to keep busy in a time where price is of paramount importance to a bride, so make sure to give us a chance to work with you and provide you with quality work that still keeps you on budget).

Here in the Atlanta market many couples are "on their own" when it comes to the DJ, photographer, and florist. Many couples pay the entire amount for all the selected wedding vendors themselves. For this reason our packages start at a level that will fulfill the need of the couple and not force the bride and groom to take on the whole amount that will be spent by everyone involved.

If the parent is paying, believe me the kids will appreciate it. Think about booking a package that will satisfy the parents and the bride and groom.

When we meet in person, you will be given printed price information for the services that we offer.

Far too often other photographers act as if they are brides to gain access to other photographers price information, just to use it as their own, for that reason we do not mail out, or send via e-mail our pricing information.

We thank you for considering Craig Fine Portraits.

We enjoy photographing weddings and hope to be able to serve you and your family by providing beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.
